Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free…

It seems like God is  always proving how much better he is at lifting up the downtrodden than man is.  The Children of Israel, the early Christians, the United States, all of whom seemed destined to live a very short time to be swallowed by a bigger, older, better equipped military force that literally promised to squash them, suppress them, and devour them, became greater and more influential than their foes through a series of miracles while they leaned on the faith of their fathers.

The Statue of Liberty asks the world to send the refuse from other countries and promises that America will lift them up and that Liberty will make them the best of what they can be.

God had his son born in a stable.  The most powerful man on Earth born in the most lowly of circumstances, to prove that he doesn’t need the wealth of men to make humble things great.
