Houston, TX – zone 9

I love gardening.  It inspires me.  It is the closest thing to magic that there is on Earth.

One thing I really love about Houston is the ability to garden practically the entire year without stop.  Fall is like the second spring out here.  Time for winter squash, broccoli, carrots and a dozen other plants.  But, most of my spring crops are still alive and kicking–tomato, eggplant, and zucchini are still growing in my garden just as healthily as if they had been just transplanted into it.

I really have found container gardening very useful for keeping plants as long lived as possible.  Moving plants to brighter spots in the garden when the shadows get longer and filling pots with self feeding potting soil to regenerate plants that are looking past their prime has worked wonders for me.
